Students and Social Service
Students are the makers of society. They are the future leader of the nation. They are the soldiers of social peace. They should serve without any selfish motive to build up a society free from exploitation corruption and poverty. Ours is an undeveloped country. So the students of our country have many things to do for the welfare of the country. They can render free service in different spheres of our national life. Most of the people of our country are illiterate. During vacation and leisure, they can open night schools in rule and city areas. And students can teach them about the basic knowledge of health, sanitation and pollution free environment. During flood and cyclone student can stand by distressed people and distribute food, medicine, pure drinking water and clothes among the affected people. The farmers of our country are illiterate. They have no knowledge about scientific method of cultivation. In this case, students can teach the farmers. Students are very much indebted to their parents and teachers. So they should follow the advice and show them due respect to them. Student must be the servants of humanity. They can feed the hungry when food is scare. They can burn or bury the dead. When a house is on fire, they must suspend their study and fight fire. They must protect the honour of women from the culture of social devils. The aim of all true education is to teach a man how to live and let others live. A student can learn this though social service. He gains experience, courage and confidence. Thus social service makes him fit the greater world.
