Hello, everyone, and very good afternoon. I’m Shahil Choudhury Mahi. I am here today as a candidate running for mayor of Rajshahi. A great city is measured by the quality of the lives of the people who live in it. It is an honor to be here as a part of this election. In this time, we have a great chance to transform Rajshahi into a green and clean Rajshahi city. But for this, you should keep voting for me in the upcoming election and select me as a Mayor in your city.
Rajshahi is very familiar to me as I grew up right here and I have achieved my graduation and post-graduation degree at Rajshahi University. My father, Shefaul Chowdhury, accomplished many things in his career. Through all his years and accomplishments, I learned something fundamental from my father … people matters and public service matters. I am very proud of my father’s legacy, proud of my family name, and I honor my parents and all they taught me. But, I stand for Mayor based on my record of service to the people of Rajshahi.
I will improve the city’s health as well as our lifestyles. Not only that but, I will improve fitness, enforce the laws, and focus on education. First of all, if I become mayor, I will improve the police forces. I know many people smoking pot kids under 21 that smoke pot illegally. Some people just break the laws of the city constantly and don’t obey the city’s rules. I will make more police stations to ensure the safety of our people. I will make people think twice before doing something, knowing that the laws are serious business and police are everywhere.
The next thing as a mayor I will start construction on a new building that will include a full-size basketball court/gym, yoga and dance lessons, cardio machines, weights, and weight machines. If we had a public gym- everyone will be happy, everyone could do what they want to do. With the support of our concerned authority, we will try our best to enrich the facilities of our water and gas supply system.
Also, I will make sure quality education. We will try our level best to establish more educational institutions. I will improve education by making more advanced classes. We will open school libraries, study halls, and computer labs so that our children will have a place to go after school. Our schools can be community centers for everyone from children to seniors.
I will improve Rajshahi better, and make it a green and clean city. I will also improve the city’s health by planting more trees. I will even recruit big companies to come to Rajshahi to support our growing city, and provide high-paying jobs. We can all further enhance our lifestyles and make Rajshahi a better place. That is what I would do if I were mayor.
